Flowers For Algernon 2

I think this book is very deep. There is a lot of symbolism and a lot for foreshadowing which is not always easy to follow. The book used foreshadowing by taking a mouse and have all that happens to him happen to the main character Charlie. The author also used windows and mirrors as symbolism in this book, for example he used mirrors to let the main character reflect on there past. I would recomend this to someone who wants something very heavy to read.

poem

What Lurks Out There
By Sloan Woodberry
When the light it is gone and you are all alone the monster comes out to haunt you.
Out of the shadow or from the closet it emerges grinding its teeth.
It flesh is pealing and its eyes are are dead like a rusted saw.
It is clothed in black garments that have been torn and frayed by time.
It grins at you showing it rotted teeth as you sink into your covers.
You wrap yourself in blankets as if they were armor.
This armor gives you courage deep inside, so you thrust away your covers and lunge for the light to expose it.
The light comes flashing so bright, and you turn to watch the beast melt and hiss...
But it's gone, you have conquered a beast that lived deep within.

Flowers For Algernon

I really enjoyed this book. I think that it was written in clever form, not just the diary entrys but how it shows his growing intelligence. Flowers For Algernon is about a man named Charlie who has a learning disability. Charlie has surgery performed on him to make him smarter, and soon his whole world is changed. Suddenly he becomes a genius but is this much better than what he was before. Now Charlie is confronted with all types of problims that he never realized existed, remembers his disturbing past, and has struggled with the reality of his life. I think that this book has a lot of deep meaning and symbolism. I would reccomend this book to someone who loves fiction but also loves something that really sucks you in.

imaganary girls 2

I enjoyed this book to some extent but I think that the author could have tried harder. This book was very rushed and in many ways and confusing. When something odd happened there was some what of an investigation but then it contuniued on with even giving that event a second thought. On a one to ten scale I would give this a four. It had some good ideas but they were not orginized well.

Imaginary girls part 1

This book is pretty good so far. It is about this girl named Chloe whom lives with her sister in a small house near the mysterious reservoir which settled after a flood over the small town of Olive. One night Chloe decides to go to the reservoir with some friends for a late night swim. While taking on a challenge given to her by her sister to swim the reservoir end to end, discovers the dead body of one her classmates. She moves away and leaves everything behind, but when she comes back for the summer she sees her classmate alive and well. Now Chloe is tangled in her past and is trying to figure out. What is real and what is fantasy. This book is odd but that is what makes it interesting.
